Wildlife Week Celebration “The Vanyavani Wildlife Festival 2025”

On the Occassion of 73rd Wildlife Week “The Vanyavani Wildlife Festival 2025” was inaugurated, organized by Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Udyan & Zoo. During inauguration programme, a week long series of various activities was announced.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Gardens Mr.Ajitkumar Ambi & Zoo Director Dr. Sanjay Tripathi unevlied a replica of the Great Hornbill created by Srushtidnyan.

As a part of this festival Srushtidnyan arranged a nature trail for differently-abled students. During this activity the students were introduced to various plants & zoo and were educated about the importance of nature & the environment. Mr. Kunal Anerao and Mr. Prashant Shinde conducted awareness programme and fun activity about Hornbill bird species. In this programmes students learned about different species of hornbill, their diet & natural habitats. Ms. Sangeeta Kharat conducted informative session about millets. In this session she explained health benefits, nutritional values and various recipes of millets.

“Van Ki Baat- Expert Talk” was conducted by Virendra Naidu, a researcher from Wildlife Conservation Society India. He guided students about the coexistence of animals in Mumbai & explained the importance of wildlife conservation. Srudents from Pragnya Bodhini High School, Goregaon participated in this expert talk.

The festival concluded with a panel discussion on “People, Forests, and Life,” featuring experts including Mrs. Kanchan Pawar, Dr. Sanjay Tripathi, Mrs. Deepti Humarskar, Dr. Nikhil Bhopale, Mr. Prashant Shinde, and Ms. Mahi Mankeshwar. Moderated by journalist Mr. Akshay Mandavkar, the discussion highlighted the coexistence of humans and wildlife and emphasized the importance of environmental awareness and conservation.
