Srushtidnyan and Pragnya Bodhini High School cordially invites parents of all the sections for the “Millet Festival” on Saturday 14th December 2024 between 10-30 to 1 pm. Millets are the oldest grains known to humans such as Jowar, Bajara, Ragi, Kodo etc. Millets have many nutritional and health promoting properties, especially the high fiber content, nature of starch has major role in reducing the risk of lifestyle diseases. Srushtidnyan is promoting Millets as immunity building local food system. Srushtidnyan have formed a Millet Moms Club with the parents of Pragnya Bodhini High School who use millets in their daily diet at least three times a week.
In this festival, there will be Millet’s recipe competition, exhibition of Millet products and sustainable products, panel discussion and interaction with nutritionist & Millet farmers. This Millet Festival will set examples of how to follow a climate-friendly sustainable lifestyle.
Millets Recipe Competition
Theme – Lunch box with finger food (snacks)
Criteria
• One can use one or many millets together. The minimum quantity should be for the serving of five persons.
• There is no limitation of no of dishes. One dish with many millets or many dishes with single millet.
• The recipe should contain 75% millets.
• Keep use of any form of wheat, rice & sugar at a minimum.
• Write a recipe on a white paper and keep it with the recipe.
• In a presentation you can use posters about millets, nutrition value, calories chart etc.
• Use recipe ingredients for garnishing.
• Reputed judges will evaluate the recipes on the criteria of taste, ingredients and cooking process, innovation and presentation.
• The judges’ decision will be final.
